KRAFTON, Inc. has launched Update 38.1 for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS on PC, with the console version to follow on October 23. The October update introduces a limited-time Halloween collaboration mode featuring the globally popular YouTube animation IP Skibidi Toilet, a new Contender character, and a series of gunplay and gameplay improvements, including updates to SMGs, vehicles, and map mechanics. • Skibidi Toilet Collaboration: Just in time for spooky season, PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS is teaming up with the globally popular YouTube animation IP Skibidi Toilet for a special PvE Arcade mode. Players will face waves of Toilet bosses in a 4-player squad format across Miramar, earning Chemical Cans to upgrade their loadouts in the next match. A special Event Pass: Skibidi Toilet will also be available, featuring themed rewards. The event runs from October 22 to November 5 on PC, and from October 30 to November 13 on Console.

• New Contender Character: Following the debut of the Contender system earlier this year, Dorian takes the spotlight as its second official addition. A heavy-metal guitarist who sees the Battlegrounds as the ultimate stage to complete his sonic masterpiece, Dorian can be unlocked and upgraded via the Workshop, allowing players to personalize emotes, kill effects, Dive Trails, and appearances.

• Gunplay and System Updates: The update also introduces broad gameplay improvements, including reduced SMG hip-fire accuracy, MP5K and Panzerfaust balance adjustments, lower vehicle damage to passengers, new destructible terrain on Miramar, and Recall System refinements to keep late-game play more balanced.

PUBG MOBILE will launch its collaboration content on September 25, while PC players can access a special Halloween Arcade mode starting October 22, and consoles from October 30.

The new Arcade mode will be available for two weeks on PC and consoles, where players take on the role of the Alliance to defend the world against the powerful Skibidi Toilets and Astro Toilets in a PvE boss battle. Through the Event Pass, players can also unlock Alliance-themed outfits inspired by the Skibidi Toilet universe.

KRAFTON, Inc. today unveiled the Collector Leviathan, a new deep-sea predator in its upcoming survival adventure Subnautica 2, which is being developed by Unknown Worlds. Revealed in the game’s third developer vlog, the Collector Leviathan represents the next step in the franchise’s evolution with a creature that is both visually striking and powered by advanced AI to create tense, dynamic encounters.

Bringing the Collector Leviathan to Life
The latest developer vlog provides a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Collector Leviathan, from early concept art by Visual Development Lead Cory Strader to insights from the Unknown Worlds development team. This creature was designed to push boundaries of immersion and threat in Subnautica 2.

• Aggressive First Encounter: The Collector Leviathan is the first hostile leviathan players will meet in Subnautica 2.
• Responsive AI: Powered by Unreal Engine 5 behavior trees and stimulus systems, it reacts to light, sound, and player actions in real time.
• Lifelike Movement: Fully simulated tentacle animation creates more natural and unpredictable interactions.
• Immersive Combat Design: A terrifying roar and powerful shockwave attacks amplify the sense of danger.

Antonio Muñoz Gallego, AI designer for the creature, said, “The Collector Leviathan is not just a monster that blindly attacks players. It is an intelligent and highly threatening deep-sea lifeform that actively reacts to player behavior and pursues them.” He added, “Our main goal with our creatures was to make them feel reactive, so the Leviathan is constantly re-evaluating the situation in real time. To achieve that, we use Unreal Engine 5 behavior trees and our AI stimulus system.”
